Kym Staton: Skydiving Violinist; Concerts In The Sky – 7 News Report

Australia’s First Mid-Air (Skydiving) Concert! Kym Staton was today the first person in Australia to perform a mid-air “Concert In The Sky” Sydney Concert Violinist Kym Staton TODAY performed Vivaldi’s “Winter Concerto” whilst under canopy, after having skydived from 14000ft above the beach. Wollongong skydive company “Sky Dive The Beach” provided the technical expertise and in-air camera work for the stunt. A crowd was waiting on Wollongong Beach to hear the musician descend from the sky while performing the popular violin piece. Staton is promoting his Sydney Opera House debut this Sunday, 21 November. Tapestries is a wondrous collaboration of musicians and composers, including Lewis Wong who joins Staton from the US for a performance of the new work by Dr. Robert Frank. Tapestries for two violins and the Endeavour Chamber Orchestra.
