I am really into My Chemical Romance, but I think that they r going to break up soon after they finish their tour for their new album. What are some other bands that are similar in sound/ style?

Who says they’re going to break up???? THEY CAN’T BREAK UP!!! THEY CAN’T!! I can’t love any other bands as i love them. . . :’(agree with the answerer above me. No band is really similar to MCR. . They’re original.
I wouldn’t worry too much about them breaking up, I mean look at how long Green Day carried on after they all had kids. Even so, it’s pretty hard to find bands that sound even a little bit like them. The Used are much more poppy/hooky yet somehow more angsty (! ahh Bert) but they are slightly similar, plus they do name drop Gerard/mcr and Bert and Gerard had a duet with Under Pressure. HIM – a Finnish band are similar to mcr in that they too are beautifully melodic and have strong/strange
male vocal leads. Plus Gerard himself has complimented them a few times. Taking Back Sunday – have been friends with mcr for years and put on a great live show, though I actually wouldn’t really say they are similar. Gerard makes a random appearance on both the Say Anything song In Defense of the Genre and features on a song and video (driving in a desert xD) with a Japanese artist for the song Safe and Sound. If you like mcr, you actually probably won’t like Leathermouth but Frank is the lead singer so you might want to give them a try

theres a band called “Close To Home”theyre really good, but they arent too big of a band because theyre just starting out. but they have all theyre music on their myspacemyspace. com/cthu should check them out, i dont know if youll agree but i think they are similar to mcr. theyre really cool guys too, ive talked to josh wells (guitar player) acouple times. & idk if mcr is gonna break up or not (hope not) but if they are, you dont have to worry about close to home breakin up cuz theyre just starting out.
